The product recommendations are generally fairly new ones, mostly luxury products and I wonder how much is advertisement. The book I think represents the author’s views on beauty products: it must look nice in its presentation as well as being useful, and that the price is of little matter.

I wanted to buy the book to show “support” that people were interested in this matter and that, trivial as beauty may seem to many others, for some women it is a very important part of the ritual of self-preservation, of getting ready to go out there and take on the world. I read an article (advert) in the Guardian about it. It's a bit like going shopping with your very beauty savvy best friend who happens to have a wicked sense of humour' LISA ELDRIDGE 'Warm, witty and welcoming' GAL-DEMĪdmittedly, I don’t buy or read Vogue magazine so I had no idea about the author’s writing style. This woman really knows her stuff and delivers it in such warm and chatty way. 'If anyone is going to decode beauty's most inclusive and brilliant products, it should be Funmi. The bronzer, however, is a bit too warm for my skin tone. The Sweet Cheeks blush is one of my old faves and the highlighter is really nice as well. Most of the eye shades are nicely pigmented except for Delight, which was a bit dry and chalky. These shades work beautifully for a natural everyday look and they go very well together. I love that it includes all that stuff, especially the Brow Power Powder (which is my absolute fave) so I don’t have to pack lots of separate things when I travel! The eye products are on the cooler side, while the face products are a bit warmer. Unlike last year’s palette which had 12 shadows and a blush, this one has 6 shadows, a blush, an eyebrow powder, a highlight, and a bronzer. Luckily, what’s inside is still great, so overall I’m happy with it! This year, I feel like the packaging is a bit more flimsy feeling than years past (it’s like a hard plastic) and it’s kind of hard to open. I really enjoyed last year’s palette, and the packaging was especially stunning. It’s that time of year! The newest It Girl Palette from It Cosmetics is here and I’m excited to share it with you.
